Control and collaboration on show

The new Meridian 218 Zone Controller is being showcased at ISE 2017, alongside Meridian’s newly updated and complimentary Design and Specification Service.

Aimed at a wide range of distributed audio applications from single-zone to multi-zone use, the 1U-high Meridian 218 can be rack, shelf, or wall mounted. Combining digital and analogue inputs and outputs, the Sooloos/MQA-enabled device offers control features including IP and IR and is easily integrated with third-party control systems.

Under the company’s design service, dealers can more easily integrate Meridian products into designs for home theatres. Dealers can send a plan of the room or home where they are installing the system, and Meridian will return a schematic that details where to position speakers, audio panels, and projector and screen to ensure that the technology is optimised. The service can also show how Meridian components can interface with third-party control options and existing audio and video distribution systems.

Meridian recently entered into a new partnership in the UK with Barco Residential that enables dealers to specify Barco projectors into Meridian projects. Visitors to Barco’s stand at ISE have the opportunity to hear a pair of Meridian Special Edition DSP7200 Digital Active

Loudspeakers, finished in a custom Meridian Select colour.

Meridian has also signed recent partnerships to distribute Cinema–ATS, an easy-to-install acoustic treatment solution for home theatres, in the UK, and DT Screens, which has developed a superior masking technology for improved projection screen size accuracy.
