Five new Compact models, as well as weather-resistant options featuring PolyGlas outdoor enclosure technology, have been added to the I Series engineered loudspeaker range.
The Compact loudspeakers are designed to match the performance, appearance and voicing of the larger I Series Point Source and subwoofer models.
Community claims that all products in the Compact I Series have best-in-class LF extension, sensitivity and maximum output, for high quality sound whether used as fill speakers or in distributed applications.
The 6.5in IC6-1062 features a high LF extension for its cabinet size and a very wide dispersion fabric dome HF on a shallow waveguide, which the company said provided a pleasantly smooth response while retaining high sensitivity. The single 8in IC6-1082 and symmetrical dual 8in IC6-2082 are each available with two rotatable horn patterns paired with a low distortion, high output 1.7in diaphragm HF compression driver.
All Compact I Series are available in a standard black or white painted finish, and with or without a 70V/100V autoformer. U-Brackets for installation are included, while Vertical Yokes are sold separately.
Community is also introducing optional weather-resistant PolyGlas enclosures for all of its I Series 800-Level and 600-Level loudspeakers, including the new Compact models.
The company says that in contrast to fibreglass-covered wood enclosures, which entail long manufacturing lead times, Mil Spec 810G-tested PolyGlas cabinets reduce lead times considerably and are ‘virtually immune’ to the destructive effects of moisture and temperature cycling.
The PolyGlas cabinets are constructed from a dense structural-grade composite embedded with dual layers of fiberglass cloth. Finished cabinets are heavily coated with exterior-grade grey paint and UV-resistant top coat, while dual-layer powder-coated marine-grade aluminium grilles backed with NeverWet-treated acoustic fabric provide additional protection for the inherently weather-resistant drivers. Custom colour options and colour-matched stainless steel accessory U-Brackets are available for all Weather-Resistant I Series models.
