Celebrating the best in stand design at ISE 2023

Created by Integrated Systems Europe and managed by EXHIBITOR magazine, the Stand Design Awards are set to return to ISE with prizes being awarded in four size-based categories.

Every stand on the ISE show floor will be automatically entered into the free competition and judged on site during ISE 2023. EXHIBITOR magazine’s editor, Travis Stanton, along with deputy editor Brian Dukerschein, will complete the initial round of on-site judging to select the finalists. To ensure the awards are completely impartial, a group of world-renowned designers and marketers will then judge the finalists to come up with the winners.

There are four awards up for grabs this year. The categories are:

  • Small: 30sqm or less
  • Medium: 31-69sqm
  • Large: 70-249sqm
  • XL: 250sqm or more

Judges will be looking at how well stands meet a number of assessment criteria. This includes how it communicates the name and purpose of the exhibiting company/product/brand; how it employs the allotted space and scale to convey key messages; and how it enlists colour, graphics and organisation/wayfinding as a design tool.

This year’s independent judges are Carmelo Zappulla, CEO and head of design, External Reference, Barcelona; Jorge Alves, founder and lab master, Mind Trooper, Lisbon; Julia Höhn, senior designer, ET Global, Frankfurt; and Martin Henderson, technical manager, BRC Imagination Arts, Edinburgh.

Up to 10 finalists will be selected in each category; they will be notified on the show floor and presented with a plaque on or before Wednesday 1 February. The four winners will be revealed at the Stand Design Awards Ceremony, which takes place at 16:00 on Thursday 2 February on the Smart Home Technology Stage in Hall 2.
