CEDIA expands exam programme

To meet the needs of the growing industry, CEDIA has expanded the availability of CEDIA Certification to reach an even larger global audience. Now available through Kryterion Global Testing Solutions, which has more than 1,000 testing centres worldwide, CEDIA Certification exams are more accessible than ever before.

“As part of our commitment to home technology professionals, wherever they might be, we’re pleased to be able offer our Certification exams on a truly global scale” commented David Whitney, CEDIA certification manager. “Members who previously could only take certification exams at the CEDIA show, ISE, or at another CEDIA training event now have the flexibility to take the exam close to home and the option to renew their current CEDIA Certification online.”

Individuals looking to sign up for a certification exam can purchase a voucher to take the exam through the CEDIA website. After purchase, a link will be provided to a Kryterion login, allowing individuals to select an exam time and location. A map of all the testing locations can be found on the Kryterion website www.kryteriononline.com. In the UK alone, CEDIA Certification exams are now available in 27 locations where previously there was only one.

CEDIA has also introduced new options for CEDIA Certification renewal. Integrators can re-take the exam that is the current equivalent version for their Certification from the convenience of their own computer. To begin the renewal exam, integrators will need to register online and download Kryterion’s Secure Sentinel software. This software will lockdown their screen during the exam and will be monitored by a Kryterion staff member through the individual’s webcam and microphone.

CEDIA has also created a new set of CEDIA Certification logos and added a digital badging programme to help integrators market their Certifications to both homeowners and to their fellow industry professionals. The digital badges, available through BadgeCert, allow integrators to add digital certification badges to email signatures, LinkedIn accounts, websites, and other social media platforms. Clicking on a digital badge allows clients to verify the current status and expiration date of an individual certification and see what knowledge and skills it represents.

CEDIA Certification exams are also administered at select CEDIA Training Events, including ISE 2018. Attendees will have the opportunity to take the three main advanced certifications available — Electronic Systems Certified Technician (ESC-T), Electronic Systems Certified Designer (ESC-D), and Electronic Systems Certified Networking Specialist (ESC-N) in Room 201 on Friday 9 February.

ISE 2018 presents an exceptional opportunity for integrators from across Europe to achieve CEDIA Certification, the industry-recognised credential for expertise in professional home technology.

At the show, attendees can take the three advanced CEDIA Certification examinations available – Electronic Systems Certified Technician (ESC-T), Electronic Systems Certified Designer (ESC-D), and Electronic Systems Certified Networking Specialist (ESC-N). These certifications allow members to establish their knowledge, skills, and commitment to best practice.

All certification examinations will take place on Friday 9 February in Room 201 at the RAI.
