Cat connections made easy with Rutenbeck

In data centres and other data-intensive applications, data rates of 25/40 Gbit/s have become a normal part of daily life. In addition to fibre optic solutions, copper-based solutions of various types have also been standardised. Since well-known manufacturers of active network components decided to offer RJ45-compatible solutions supporting 25/40 GBase-T, the demand for corresponding cabling solutions according to Class I/Cat 8.1 has grown.

With the Universal Modular Jack Cat 8.1, Rutenbeck presents the first RJ45 solution corresponding to the category 8.1. It is suitable for bandwidths up to 2,000MHz without any restrictions on the mechanical performance of Rutenbeck’s RJ45 solutions.

The new jack is backward compatible with the Cat 6A standard. The company claims it offers a significantly smaller design than any other known modular solution, and is ideal for installation environments with limited space. The mounting of the universal modular jack is quick and easy without use of any special tools and therefore, suitable for construction sites. Due to its keystone format, it can be used with any corresponding adapters in all installation situations and not only in data centres.
