Casio focuses on first 4K projector

Casio is demonstrating its entire range of projectors at ISE, with its 4K Large Venue Series the centre of attention. The XJ-L8300HN is the company’s first 4K projector, based on DLP technology and featuring 5,000 lumens brightness with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

Launched last summer, the Large Venue Series has been particularly popular with higher education and schools looking to introduce 4K to larger audiences across their halls and lecture theatres, says the company.

John Dykes, business development manager at Casio, said: “We’ve seen a continued level of growth in our lamp-free projectors this year, especially with our Core Series, due to its competitive price point and brightness of up to 3,500 lumens brightness – making it ideal for classrooms and smaller seminar rooms. The 4K XJ-L8300HN [is] on display so that integrators can see the performance of its lamp-free design at this high resolution.”

The laser and LED hybrid light source across Casio’s projector range is said to deliver an extremely low total cost of ownership, as the need to replace lamps is totally removed. The company points out that it also provides the opportunity to improve the end user’s environmental credentials, as power consumption is dramatically reduced, and hazardous mercury is eliminated.
