Tesira 2.0, the latest version of Biamp’s flagship family of digital signal processor (DSP)-based systems, was launched at ISE 2014 yesterday. At its heart is TesiraFORTÉ, a series of audio processors that extend audio-video bridging (AVB) to application-specific settings. Eight preconfigured models (four AVB and four non-AVB) are available – designed for conferencing, telephony, and VoIP environments.
Biamp’s new DAN-1 digital server networking card, which functions as a gateway interface and supports 64×64 channels of Dante audio. Shipping with Tesira 2.0, the DAN-1 can be installed as a standalone solution, alongside AVB or CobraNet; or can work with both. A single Tesira SERVER-IO can operate with all three protocols.
Tesira 2.0 firmware and software enable two Tesira SERVERs to act as a redundant pair: the secondary Tesira SERVER provides a mirrored backup to prevent any service interruption should the primary SERVER fail.

Designed for applications such as corporate, government, and higher education, TesiraFORTÉ uses a customer’s existing cabling infrastructure for a cost-effective networked audio installation.
