Bang & Olufsen shows BeoSound Essence

A new sound system, BeoSound Essence, is being launched that allows a one-touch remote to deliver premium, but concealed, sound quality.

A new sound system, BeoSound Essence, is being launched at ISE 2014 that allows a one-touch remote to deliver premium, but concealed, sound quality. A hidden box that connects to the music device is controlled by the remote, offering connections to digital audio in the Cloud, on a computer, NAS, mobile phone or tablet.

The basic BeoSound Essence sound system consists of two components: a wall-mounted aluminium BeoSound Essence Remote and the hide-away box that is the centre for AirPlay streaming, DLNA streaming, Spotify Connect, QPlay and internet radio stations.

Users can place the BeoSound Essence Remote wherever it’s convenient, for example on the wall next to the light switch, and start listening to their favourite music when they walk into the room, with one touch. Another touch lets users skip between playlist tracks or internet radio stations or mute the music and adjust the volume. Additional wall-mounted or table top BeoSound Essence Remotes can be added to the system, as can Bang & Olufsen active speakers.

Bang & Olufsen CEO Tue Mantoni commented: “BeoSound Essence is all about giving people easy access to their favourite music in Bang & Olufsen quality. By applying our behavioural and ethnographic studies of how people live and live with music we have developed the simplest user interface available in the market.”

In connection with the launch of BeoSound Essence, Bang & Olufsen has also introduced the BeoMusic app, which allows control of the music from both iOS and Android devices. The App can browse and play music from the mobile, PC or NAS device, as well as access global internet radio stations.
