Contacta: Assistive listening gains new platform

The HLD platform for large area hearing loops is being showcased at ISE 2015 by Contacta, alongside a call for increased support for hearing loss by the AV industry.
The initial products in the range are the HLD5, a standalone, large area loop driver for small facilities including meeting rooms, classrooms and smaller venues, and the HLD7 large area loop driver, for medium-sized facilities.

Both products are supplied in the industry-standard 19in rack format and offer drivers for perimeter or phased array configurations.

With the introduction of the HLD platform, Contacta says it has redefined the process of hearing loop specification, concentrating on total system performance over simple loop area. Additionally, the HLD range offers automatic power standby for greater energy efficiency, passive cooling to provide increased reliability and high frequency compensation to offset interference from metal in the building’s infrastructure. Products feature intelligent input to offer dynamic control, as well as programmable self-testing for early fault identification. The capability to remotely set up and interrogate the HLD drivers also ensures that installation times are reduced and system operation levels are maximised.

The company says it is expanding its continuous development programme, which certifies specifiers, architects and facilities management professionals in product, specification, legal and environmental requirements. Simultaneously, Contacta is promoting its training scheme for its dealer and installer network to ensure the highest level of knowledge and support is delivered to the customer.
