The new N208 from Amate Audio is designed to provide exceptionally consistent signal reproduction over a greater distance than compact line arrays can usually manage.
The N208 is a two-way line array with two direct radiating 8in loudspeakers with a 2.5in voice coil and neodymium magnet, designed around Amate Audio’s proprietary 110o x 11o aluminium waveguide – hence the long throw.
Amate has also introduced two high-power compact subwoofers matched for use with the N208, the N18W (pictured here) and N218W. Direct radiating 18in LF drivers – single in the N18W, dual in the N218W – are frontloaded in bass-reflex tuned enclosures with laminar ports. A 4in inside-outside copper voice coil increases thermal and power handling stability, while water repellent cone treatment enables all-weather use.
The N208 and N18W/N218W systems offer premium performance from a compact line array, together with operational versatility and ease of setup and use, says Amate Audio. This includes optimised, plug-and-play power and system control presets for virtually instantaneous operation. By developing the system on a well-proven acoustic design, Amate Audio claims it has been able to keep the price down, too.
