The shift to laser light source projection is a trend that is continuing to gain momentum, and the Panasonic ISE press conference provided the opportunity for the company to demonstrate its strengthened line-up of high brightness, maintenance-free laser projectors.
In his introductory remarks, Hartmut Kulessa, marketing manager for Panasonic Visual Systems Europe (pictured) talked about a “phase change from line-up expansion to an overall strengthening” of the company’s products.
According to Panasonic, the company has seen a great take up of laser light source projectors, which offer long lasting performance, high brightness and very accurate colour reproduction – notably from education and visitor attractions where projectors are in use for extended periods and the lack of maintenance makes it an attractive proposition.
The PT-RZ12K is a focus for Panasonic’s ISE stand. With a laser/phosphor light source and delivering 12,000 lumens of brightness, it is also centre stage on the Lang stand (1-N53).
A year on from the introduction of a 98in 4K professional display, ISE 2015 sees the introduction of the first 4K projector from Panasonic, which it describes as “the new flagship in our projection line-up.” It is said to feature newly-engineered, industry first, pixel quadrupling technology, and will join Panasonic’s 4K broadcast products, video cameras, televisions and displays.
