BenQ has long been a familiar name in education display technology, holding a number two position in the UK interactive panel market and top-three standing across several other countries. But a conversation with Claire Huang, Head of Large Display Business Unit and Cloud Innovation Center at BenQ Corporation, makes clear that education is increasingly a platform rather than a destination. At the same time, the company is pushing hard into enterprise AV, and a new generation of AI-enabled hardware is the vehicle for that expansion.
“We are well along the journey,” Huang said during Installation’s visit to BenQ’s Taipei headquarters during Computex 2026 in early June. “We have projection, interactive displays, signage and monitors – and we want to offer a total solution, whether for SMB or large enterprise. Everything can be remotely managed. Not many companies can achieve that.”

INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS
Huang explained that, whereas displays were once passive screens connected to external computing devices, BenQ’s current products are designed to be intelligent systems in their own right – handling AI workloads, managing meetings, tracking devices remotely and maintaining colour consistency across a mixed fleet of hardware.
A consistent thread running through BenQ’s Computex booth during Installation’s visit to the show was that AI processing is now happening on the devices themselves rather than in the cloud. The centrepiece of the enterprise range was the BenQ Board CP05 corporate interactive display, available in 55in and 75in sizes, which carries a dedicated 10 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU) built on MediaTek’s latest AI architecture. BenQ claims this delivers AI performance up to 3.8 times higher than commonly used alternative platforms.

In practice, the NPU handles tasks including meeting transcription, handwriting recognition, gesture control and camera framing entirely on-device. The SummarAI meeting assistant – BenQ’s AI-powered transcription and summarisation tool built directly into the CP05 – records and summarises discussions without routing audio to an external server. The 50-megapixel wide-angle camera frames participants intelligently without requiring a cloud connection.
These are powerful selling points in enterprise environments where IT security teams are increasingly concerned about data leaving the building. Huang added: “Edge AI can provide a very instant, immediate response, and it can protect users’ privacy. Not everything is uploaded to the cloud – especially in education and corporate environments where people are very sensitive about data.”
The CP05 is also Pantone Validated and SkinTone Validated, with 95 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. BenQ believes these attributes will extend its appeal into creative and medical applications beyond the boardroom. The 55in model supports portrait orientation, opening up potential signage and kiosk use cases alongside its primary meeting room role. The CP05 received the Red Dot Award 2026 for product design.
EDUCATION BEDROCK
For the education market, BenQ has introduced the Board Pro RP05 and Board Master RM05, both of which carry the same 10 TOPS NPU architecture into the classroom, in 65in, 75in and 86in configurations. The accompanying BenQ AI software suite includes Lasso Search – which lets teachers circle anything on screen to pull up related content instantly – alongside Ask AI for real-time question handling, EZMath for converting handwritten equations into clean editable output, and Circle to Artify, which transforms sketches into illustrated artwork.
Huang explained: “BenQ AI is designed to feel like a natural extension of the lesson. By combining on-device intelligence with practical teaching tools, we’re helping educators save time and improve classroom participation.”
Both the education and corporate displays share a significant proportion of their underlying functionality – Huang estimates around 70 percent of features overlap – with corporate-specific additions including meeting room scheduling software and AI meeting summaries. NFC log-in, which allows users to access their accounts by swiping rather than typing passwords into a large display, is another feature Huang highlighted as particularly valued by enterprise customers.
PROJECTION BUSINESS
BenQ’s projection business also featured prominently at Computex, where the company demonstrated an AI-powered football simulation experience built around the BenQ LH860ST projector. The system uses sensing technology to track shot trajectories and provide real-time performance analysis without wearable devices – an extension of a technology more commonly associated with golf simulation, where BenQ has established a strong market position.
Huang acknowledged that short-throw projection in simulation environments presents specific challenges around brightness and colour accuracy. “When you simulate a golf course, you want very vivid blues and greens – and with short throw you can lose at least 30 percent of brightness. That’s something we do better than our competitors.”
Huang also explained how BenQ’s simulation projection capabilities were demonstrated in a more spectacular context. The company’s projectors were used to transform the iconic Taipei 101 tower’s 660-tonne tuned mass damper – the giant pendulum sphere that stabilises the skyscraper during earthquakes – into a giant baseball as part of a Shohei Ohtani exhibition. Ten projectors mapped the irregular spherical surface, with BenQ’s White Balance Adjustment technology maintaining colour consistency despite glass reflections and ambient light interference.
LOOKING AHEAD
Huang’s vision for BenQ is of a company that can serve entire organisations rather than individual product categories, offering a consistent, remotely managed ecosystem of projectors, interactive displays and signage that speaks a common language. She said: “We will be more solution-oriented, not just for one segment but across different verticals – medical, finance and others.”
