Stage Audio Works hosted a three-city Church Production Roadshow across South Africa in February, bringing together worship leaders, music directors and technical production teams for a series of free training and demonstration events.

The roadshow took place over three consecutive days – Johannesburg on 10 February, Durban on February 11 and Cape Town on February 12 – with each event held at a local house of worship, including Rivers Church in Sandton, Linc Church in Ballito and Hillsong Church in Century City.
Sessions included a Church Mixing Masterclass led by Jeff Sandstrom, a worship audio engineer, in which he demonstrated the Waves LV1 Classic Workflow for live mixing. An RF troubleshooting session, presented by Sennheiser South Africa, addressed common wireless communication challenges, while a live demo from Dee Jones of Multitracks.com focused on how tracks, charts and other resources can be used to enhance worship production.
Nathan Ihlenfeldt, CTO, Stage Audio Works, said: “The Church Production Roadshow was a direct response to the needs of the worship community. Having greater knowledge and technical understanding brings many benefits, aside from the obvious improvements to worship services – from greater confidence in troubleshooting technical issues to better system maintenance.”
Jeff Sandstrom, worship audio engineer, added: “We’ve talked about all kinds of techniques, but more importantly, we’ve talked about the team itself and how to operate as one team between worship and production.”
Stage Audio Works says it plans to build on the roadshow’s momentum with further events.
