Ashton Bentley, now part of Kramer, has equipped six new meeting rooms at Halkin Mainframe, in central London, with a dual conferencing solution that blends dedicated Zoom Rooms with flexible BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) connectivity.
At the heart of the setup is the Ashton Bentley BX USB-C Breakout Hub, a device designed to offer a simplified user experience in professional meeting spaces. Integrated beneath desks, the hubs enable users to instantly connect their own laptops and access the room’s AV infrastructure without needing to switch cables or change settings manually.
Ashton Bentley says this approach supports both standardised, platform-specific meetings and the spontaneous nature of user-driven collaboration. Alongside Neat Board Pro systems running Zoom Rooms, the BX Hub allows participants to switch between platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet, and others.
The BX USB-C Hub includes a secure locking USB-C connector to prevent accidental disconnections during meetings, and features automatic 5V USB switching between native room systems and user devices. The hardware also delivers regulated power and is designed to withstand the demands of commercial environments, such as daily hotdesking.
Jack Cornish, technical director at AV integrator Tateside, said: “The BX has proven to be a great piece of kit that delivers what, on the face of it, appears to be a simple task – yet this is exactly where many of the more supposedly cost-effective hubs have let us down.”
The venue, housed in a heritage building reimagined for contemporary business use, is one of London’s premium coworking destinations. It has private offices, shared workspaces and a multi-functional event space.
