The first version of the free StageMix iPad app has received more than 45,000 downloads since it was introduced last September. Now, with StageMix 2.0, users of M7CL and LS9 digital mixing consoles are set to benefit from ‘even greater control’.

Connected via the iPad’s built-in WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and a wireless connection point linked to the mixing console via Cat5 cable, the intuitive graphic interface of StageMix allows the user to easily mix stage sound via an M7CL or LS9, even if the mixing console is at the front of house position.

StageMix 2.0 adds functionality including: Head Amp gain control for each input channel; and scene memory management, including store, recall, scene titles and comments.

“StageMix has already proven to be extremely popular with end-users,” commented Nick Cook, European marketing director, Yamaha Commercial Audio. “The new functions in Version 2.0 make remotely controlling an M7CL or LS9 now even easier and faster.”

Available from the end of this month, StageMix 2.0 will continue to be free to download from Apple’s iTunes store for both the M7CL and LS9. Use of the app with the M7CL requires firmware V3.5 or higher, downloadable for free from www.yamahaproaudio.com.
