Vita Audio has released a new limited edition of its R1 radio – the ‘Ruark Red’ R1 MkII, featuring DAB, DAB+ and FM tuners, plus a switchable auxiliary input for MP3 players and other devices.

The name relates to the hi-fi loudspeaker company Ruark Acoustics, founded by Alan O’Rourke and his father Brian back in the mid-1980s. With the success of their ‘small audio’ range, O’Rourke and his team are no longer producing loudspeakers, although their goal remains to bring high-fidelity sound to compact audio products.

The new model has been launched to celebrate both the 25th anniversary of Ruark and fifth anniversary of Vita Audio.Features include 9W nominal power output; ten station presets; a RotoDial control with soft illumination; and a large-format, high-contrast display that automatically adjusts to suit the light conditions in the room. Complete portability is possible with the optional carry case and rechargeable battery pack.
