Providing background music during drinks and dinner are Vieta’s compact Do-5 full-range loudspeakers, which extend throughout the restaurant to the venue’s long bar. The venue’s dance sets, meanwhile, are handled by a powerful specification including four Vieta RE-15s and two RE-118 subs.
“It’s that idea of going out, having something to eat and then the tables get pulled back and it’s a dancing venue – although it’s much, much cooler than that,” Mick Brophy, sales and marketing director of Vieta Pro, told II. “What they wanted was a background music system in the bar and dining area, and then to move on to high-power throbbing DJ stuff after the meals are over.” Regarding the response of the client to the completed installation, Brophy added: “They love it.”
Featuring all-white cabinets and grilles, the Vieta loudspeakers are powered by QSC and MC2 Audio amplifiers, working alongside Vieta’s proprietary VDC-2 controller. A feedback loop to the amplifiers gives the system a degree of extra protection from the DJ, who also has DBX graphics and Technics decks at his/her disposal.
In other recent news, Vieta systems have been installed at Carpes Del Cim, a club located on the outskirts of Barcelona. Divided into three zones – presenting house music, Latin rhythms and pop – Carpes del Cim features more than 20 Vieta RE-8 mid-top loudspeakers located throughout the site, but concentrated on the main dancefloor in the big tent. The system here is supplemented by a total of eight RE-115 subs.
