For the new VIP facility, Ampco Belgium’s Steve Bontinck was required to provide a compact, discreet system that would “complement the architectural concept of the suite”, which will serve visiting artists, music industry events and corporate guests.
Bontinck’s final design comprises 24 Do-2 ultra-compact enclosures, supplemented by four Do-80S subs, with all units supplied in white livery. Amplification is supplied by Crest Audio CC 1800s, with system control from a Peavey MM Digitool. Inputs have been provided for microphones and a DJP set-up, while the set-up also includes a Roland AR-200R automatic announcement system operating in three languages.
“The architects were very clear that they didn’t want big loudspeakers, and they immediately fell for the Vieta Do-2’s compact design – just 26cm tall and very low profile,” noted Bontinck.
