Videotree is offering consumers the opportunity to watch their favourite programmes and movies from the comfort of their bathrooms with its new 27” widescreen LED-HD televisions Videospa and VideospaIP.
In a notable first, the latter product is described as the world’s inaugural IP-enabled waterproof television.
The waterproof Videotree Videospa products are billed as ‘safe, dynamic’ TV solutions for homes, hotels, spas and gyms. The products come in three standard colours (white pearl, mirror and black gloss; other colours are available) and offer water-resistance rated to IP66.
The specification also includes RS232 (as standard) and IR pass through for external control; HDMI, Composite, component and VGA video inputs; a waterproof remote control; and optional separate wall/ceiling mount speakers.
Videotree’s Jeff Summers told IE Residential: “The majority of newly-refurbished, high quality, elegantly designed bathrooms will feature a waterproof television of some sort within the next year or two. Market research shows that the UK is already well-established in terms of waterproof TV installation and is believed to be worth in excess of several million pounds per year. With most 5-star hotels now equipped with several bathroom televisions and our proactive approach in the UK market through advertising and marketing, etc, most consumers are now aware of the product.”
