US Church ups the ante with L-Acoustics KARAi

The L-Acoustics KARAi systems will be rolled out across multiple of NewSpring Church's satellite locations in a bid to increase attendees numbers. First on the install list are Greenwood and Columbia.

NewSpring Church of Anderson, South Carolina, US, has selected L-Acoustics KARAi systems for several of its newest satellite campuses located across the state.

The new systems are intended to help the worship centre build on growth in an effort to increase the number of attendees from 30,000 to 100,000, attending every Sunday across eight locations

NewSpring Church focuses on both spoken word – which is streamed live from its flagship site in Anderson – and also on high-energy live music at each site boasting concert tour production values and sound levels.

L-Acoustics Certified Provider LMG Systems Integration of Orlando was enlisted to design and install KARAi systems for all of its newest locations. First in line for the new KARAi line array systems were the Columbia and Greenwood campuses, which both opened beginning of 2013.

Columbia’s 80,000sqft building, which previously served as a Kmart supermarket, has now been fully remodeled around a 1,500-seat sanctuary featuring a house sound system of seven KARAi flown per side, plus a single 12XTi per side for out-fill coverage. Six coaxial 8XTi enclosures are spread across the stage lip for front-fill, with five SB28 subs deployed for low-end punch. The entire system is driven by a combination of LA8 and LA4 amplified controllers.

The Greenwood campus – a remodeled 90,000sqft former Walmart – utilises a similar system for its 1,200-seat sanctuary featuring six KARAi and one 12XTi per side for out-fill coverage, five 8XTi front-fills, four SB28 subs and a few less amplified controllers.
