Spherical Images has supplied 24 hour, time-lapse video and 360 degree panoramas for the pods at the EDF Energy London Eye. Spherical Images, producers of interactive photography and media, has provided content for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices that have been installed in each of the London Eye capsules. The interactive guides are designed to enhance the guest experience by allowing visitors to explore buildings, landmarks and other points of interest visible from the London Eye using interactive media produced by Spherical Images. The interactive guide content includes a 24-hour time-lapse 360° video requiring the Spherical Images team to camp inside the capsule for 24 hours, a first for both London Eye and time-lapse photography. The video was shot from the highest point of the London Eye, on top of the capsule, during London Eye’s maintenance week. The one-and-a half-minute video allows visitors to look around London, watching day turn to night and back again while London speeds by below. A series of still 360° panoramas were also produced in key locations across London including 10 Downing Street, the Gherkin, Tower of London and the Savoy Hotel. These images form the basis of a virtual tour of London that can be viewed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, 135 meters above the capital.
