Spektra Electronics installs Community loudspeakers at prestigious Singapore hotel

During the day, the systems are combined and used to provide recorded background music in all three zones. In the evening, live performances in the piano bar/lobby are fed to the outdoor dining area.

Community loudspeakers were specified extensively. In the piano bar/lobby, the main loudspeaker comprises Community XLT43E 15-inch full-range loudspeakers and CPL51 15-inch subs, while foldback is provided by two Community MVP15M stage monitors; the entire system is driven by Altair amplification. Also specified were eight Community CPL23 compact loudspeakers (in the coffee house) and five R.25-94X all-weather loudspeakers (the outdoor dining area), again driven by Altair amplifiers.

The end result is a system that can cater for a wide spectrum of commitments – from business meetings to political speeches and parties. “To meet such a diverse need for entertainment and communication, the Grand Copthorne called for a variety of indoor and outdoor loudspeakers that were suitable for music playback, voice announcements and live performances,” Julia Lee, Community’s director of sales and marketing, told II. “While Community’s all-weather R-Series was the natural choice for the exterior of the building, our traditional MVP, CPL and XLTE loudspeakers provided all the versatility and aesthetic options required for the interior lobby, bar, restaurant and performance areas to meet the needs of the various functions and cultural events held at this hotel, one of the most luxurious and busiest hotels in all of Asia.”
