After a successful launch at last year’s Arc Show, Spectral will be returning in 2012, bringing with them the latest in LED technology and architecturally-designed, commercial luminaires.
On the stand will be a number of Red Dot and iF award-winning products including Iris, Jep, Plafou and Estra, along with the floor standing task light Soel.
Iris is a circular T5 luminaire, available in surface- or wall-mounted, suspended and recessed versions, Iris comprises of a transparent halo body that incorporates a micro-prism diffuser wrapped in opaque or transparent plastic housing. Using bespoke control gear to allow it to have a hollow centre, Iris features replaceable coloured foils to add a true design feature to this range.
A firm favourite with lighting designers, Jep features a convex microprismatic lens, combined with high efficiency LED technology to make a suspended workspace luminaire. The LEDs evenly illuminate the large surface area of the panel, which is surrounded by a modern, elegant frame. The integral frame is made from recycled plastic. A wall-mounted version is also available.
Estra-Pendant and a revised Plafou design will also feature at Arc 2012. These are suited to office environments and educational establishments for VDU compatible direct/indirect lighting. Both models share a pendant ceiling fixture where the height of the luminaire can be adjusted by up to 200cm. The T5 lamps are housed in an intricately controlled internal reflector system which is surrounded by a low glare prismatic optic. The trademark Spectral power-feed cable also combines suspension and main at one end for a neat uncluttered look. Both versions are available for 1200mm and 1500mm T5 options with further options for Dali control gear.
New from Spectral is Soel, a floorstanding LED down/uplighter, also suited for task lighting in office environments. The contemporary styling allows the luminaire to blend equally well into modern furnished installations or more elaborate architectural interiors. Soel features directional downward LEDs fitted with special lenses to create precise, cut-off lighting distribution. To balance this intensive downlight element, a switchable fluorescent uplight component emits a soft ambient light effect to create a fully direct/indirect light source.
The Arc Show, aimed at the architectural, retail and commercial lighting sectors, takes place at London’s Business Design Centre from 29 February to 1 March 2012.
