Spanish entertainment venues put their faith in QSC

The other site, the 800-capacity Sala _ngel in the Barcelona suburb of Sabadell, is using QSC products as part of its gambit to appeal to an audience that wishes to be entertained away from the Barcelona downtown scene. Locally based contractor and audio expert Josep Bages from ArtMedia was enlisted to work on a sound reinforcement solution – entailing both the main floor and the upper VIP room – in a venue that regularly houses live performances and dance-oriented nights.

The result of a consultation process that drew on the input of QSC’s Spanish distributors was a main system based around two four-box hangs of WL2082-i, reinforced with four HPR151i powered single 15-inch subs and a pair of MD-215 subs; all are under the control of QSC 322ua and DSP-30 digital signal processors. Further down the room, a pair of AD S282Hs provides additional coverage.

Power in this area comes from a combination of RMX 1450 (bridged), RMX 2450, PLX1804 and PLX3602 (bridged) amplifiers. Six powered floor monitors have also been added to the stage setup.

On the upper floor, a 100sq m VIP room houses six AD S82Hs loudspeakers (powered by a single RMX 4050) and an HPR 181i sub. Audio feed comes either from the VIP room DJ booth or the main control downstairs, enabling VIP guests to listen to the concert being held on the main floor from the comfort of the booth, and with lighter SPLs.
