The Smart Building Conference returns to London on 7 October at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster.
After attracting over 150 attendees at this year’s ISE show in Amsterdam, the Smart Building Conference alights in London, where it will open its doors to technology manufacturers, designers, consultants and suppliers. It will repeat its successful twin-track formula of separate residential and commercial paths.
Moderated by Matt Dodd, CEDIA representative, the Residential Track sessions will begin with CEDIA chairman and managing director of Konnectiv Technology, Kris Hogg, discussing ‘The Developed and the Simple Approach to Smart Home Technology’.
This will then be followed by Daniel Knight, technical director of CEDIA member company Fibaro UK, who will look into ‘Top Trends in Home Automation’.
A panel discussion will follow a ‘Live Case Study: Across the Amazon, the many paths through the smart home jungle’ with founder director of Face to Face Digital, Will Brocklebank.
The afternoon session includes a presentation on ‘Connected UK Homes’ from Jeremy Peterson, general manager at Honeywell EMEA.
The Commercial Track, moderated by InfoComm International’s Chris Lavelle, begins with a presentation by Jeremy Towler, senior manager of energy & smart technology at BSRIA UK, entitled ‘Evolution of Smart Buildings and their Place in the Internet of Everything’.
Jason Blundell of Cortech Developments will then present ‘Smarter Interoperability and Efficiency in Smart Buildings’, followed by Stephen Patterson of Biamp talking about ‘Building Networked Media in Smart Buildings’.
Afternoon sessions include ‘What You Need to Know about the IT Backbone’, ‘The Smart Choice for Smart Buildings’ and ‘Getting to Grips with “Big Data”‘.
The event will provide delegates with key insights needed to meet their smart building business and design objectives. Visitors will have the opportunity to attend talks by a number of industry experts, network with other smart-building professionals and the chance to participate in panel discussions, including ‘Smart Drivers for Smart Homes and Smart Buildings,’ ‘How to Differentiate in Residential Integration’, ‘The Future of Home and Building Control’ and ‘The Internet of Things around Smart Buildings’.
Additionally, and new for 2014, the Smart Building Conference will give visitors the chance to take part in ‘The Integrator’ workshop on 8 October. Open to all individuals with an interest in working as an integrator within the smart building industry, this full-day workshop provides a practical insight into the opportunities, challenges, strategies and skills involved in smart home integration and building.
