Despite measuring only 30cm across, the “little sonic bulldog” that is Seismic 110 offers 1kW of power. At the heart of the new sub is an ultra-low-distortion split-coil drive woofer coupled with an 850W RMS Ultra-Class D amplifier, which is capable of delivering 150W RMS continuous and a 2,550W dynamic peak.
The exterior shell is a die-cast monocoque design that forms an integrated compact package with the woofer tucked inside. The 10-inch woofer cone is capable of two inches of travel, while the dual spider suspension and FEA-optimised ribbed surround are said to “help keep things under control when the going gets loud”. Meanwhile, the optional Paradigm Perfect Bass Kit (PBK-1TM)can analyse the Seismic 110’s response in a room, then set the correct equalisation parameters to obtain optimal sound.
Paradigm’s marketing manager, Mark Aling, commented: “The Seismic 110 captures all of the design and engineering talent we have in-house at Paradigm. This subwoofer is a true collaboration between our industrial, mechanical, electronic and acoustical design team; unlike many of the other subs, this product has no off-the-shelf parts but is custom built to showcase how form follows function.”
Paradigm products are handled in the UK by authorised distributor Anthem AV Solutions.
