Screen Innovations launching new motorised projection screen

The Reference Motorized G3 screen includes Somfy motors and controls for quiet operation and ease-of-integration with all control systems.

The Reference Motorized G3 screen includes Somfy motors and controls for quiet operation and ease-of-integration with all control systems.

The Somfy motors allow the screen to appear unobtrusively as the projection system is brought in to operation. Somfy’s ILT2 technology means that setting limits and controlling the operation of the new screen takes only seconds when coupled with the SI Referenced Motorized Control Board. Controls included in the box (at no extra charge) are the 12-volt Trigger, IR Remote / Receiving Eye, and the Wall Switch. RS232/485 & RF are available as options, both being compatible with all common control systems.

The new tab tensioning system is said to offer an improved viewing experience while limiting the traditional repeat marks found on most screens. The revised Referenced Motorized mounting brackets give installers the flexibility to mount on-wall, on-ceiling, in-ceiling-top-mount, and in-ceiling-side-mount, while the new design also allows for incremental adjustment both vertically and horizontally after the screen is mounted.

The design eliminates the need for an independent flush mount chassis for in-ceiling installations, thereby saving money by not having a separate chassis to put the box in. In addition, the same screen is used for either in-ceiling or external installations: the installer simply adds either a flush mount plates at the bottom for in-ceiling installations or the décor plate for external installations. Pricing is the same for either option: customers need only specify the type of installation required when placing the order, or order both (additional charge) if the situation may change.

Screen Innovations Reference Motorized is available up to 200” diagonal with all of Screen Innovations’ HD screen materials, including the Gamma HD, Solar HD, Lunar HD, Gamma Maestro HD, and Lunar Maestro HD. Custom screen sizes are available in one inch increments and the unit comes standard with a 24” black screen drop (up to six feet with custom orders).

“The new Reference Motorized screen is designed with the installer in mind,” said Tom Garrett, technical product specialist at UK distributor Anthem AV Solutions. ”These new screens offer our customers a profitable and predictable result every time.”

The Screen Innovations Reference Motorized G3 will start shipping in May 2011 and is available in the UK through Anthem AV Solutions.
