Robert Juliat’s Chinese success continues

The fixtures are employed in various positions overhead, on stage and at front of house in the venue’s three auditoria: the 2,500-seat Opera Hall, the 2,000-seat Music Hall and the 1,500-seat Theatre Hall. Robert Juliat also supplied 144 Brabo battens, 96 Quadri Fluo lights and five Digitour portable dimmers.

Speaking to II, Robert Juliat sales director Lionel Garraud placed the NCPA project in the context of a very busy period for the Chinese market. “After a tremendous year of sales in 2008 which included supplying follow-spots to the Beijing Olympic Games as well as a comprehensive range of equipment to the National Centre for the Performing Arts, the train continues to roll in China for Robert Juliat,” he said. “A total of 12 Cyrano follow-spots are currently being shipped to a new theme park in Shenzhen, after which we will be sending a full range of follow-spots, profiles and PCs to the Heifei Opera House near Shanghai. We have more Robert Juliat equipment going into venues across Macau and have a whole selection of follow spots in Macau’s Venetian Casino. This is only the beginning of several theatre projects which we have lined up in China this year.”

The company has also recently registered notable sales in Singapore – including the supply of RJ 700 series 2,000W profiles and some follow sports to the Esplanada – and Hong Kong, where the Academy of Performing Arts has added a number of Robert Juliat fixtures to its inventory.

“Robert Juliat China and our dealers in the region are destined to be very busy for some time to come,” concluded Garraud.
