Taking into account the sloping ceiling, three walls of brick and glass, tile terrazzo floor and glass skylights, City Animation and consultant Dave Spoelhof (from Accurate Audio Consultants) devised a specification based around Renkus-Heinz Iconyx IC24 loudspeakers.
“The tall, steerable line arrays gave the control and volume we needed to make it work as not only a cafeteria, but a corporate meeting space and a place for high energy (pun intended) events to take place in,” said City Animation’s Marshall Coleman.
Custom-painted in PPG Crumb Cookie to ensure they matched the columns and other materials used, the IC24s are part of an audio system that also includes a Lectrosonics DM-16 matrix mixer, ten Shure ULX/P wireless microphones, Denon DN-V300 DVD players, Marantz PMD-371 CD player and a Contemporary Research ATSC tuner.
Also specified for Town Square was a video wall featuring a matrix of 36 Akira MIS4201 edgeless plasma displays driven from a system incorporating Extron, Magenta Research and Analog Way equipment.
