Reframing the picture speaker with Monitor Audio

SoundFrame is an ultra-discreet on-wall loudspeaker range intended “to resolve the conflict between great audio and décor forever”.

Monitor Audio’s SoundFrame is an ultra-discreet on-wall loudspeaker range intended “to resolve the conflict between great audio and décor forever”. Possessing a depth of only 87mm, the cabinets are framed by a choice of high gloss piano lacquers, while grille fabrics are available in a wide variety of colours, art designs and photographs.

The new line comprises two models: SoundFrame 1, which adopts the aspect ratio of a typical picture frame and is designed for music and film sound applications in front left/right and surround locations; and SoundFrame 2, whose proportions are more akin to a longer centre-channel speaker with thin TVs and projection screens, and also lend themselves to portrait usage,.

Each model utilises a true three-way full-range driver configuration featuring a pivoting IDC 4-inch mid-range/1-inch tweeter module and a 6.5-inch C-CAM bass driver. The innovative ‘Inverted Dual Concentric’ module is able to pivot in all directions, allowing the precise direction of crucial frequencies toward the listening area for greater detail, imaging and fidelity. Meanwhile, the large high-power bass driver employs Monitor Audio’s advanced RST cone technology, developed for Monitor Audio’s flagship speakers.

Monitor Audio marketing manager Michael Johnson told IE Residential: “By blending our most imaginative driver and cabinet technologies we’ve created a miraculously thin loudspeaker that answers the call from interior designers worldwide for an easy way to combine great style with high-impact home entertainment.”
