Red Letter Year for Ampetronic

Norway's postal service, Posten Norge, is investing in Ampetronic induction loops at its counters across the country.

Norway’s postal service, Posten Norge, is investing in Ampetronic induction loops at its counters across the country. Working closely with distributor Scandec Systemer AS, Ampetronic is supplying 1,000 CLD1-CT counter systems for a programme that will see them installed throughout Norway.

With the systems to be fitted in small local post offices located inside grocery stores and supermarkets, the requirement was for a system that would be compact as well as rugged and incorporating in-built metal loss compensation.

“The CLD1-CT is very well suited for this project because it is so compact that the unit and wiring can all easily be concealed within the counter,” said Scandec product manager Bjørnar Riise. “It is rugged and reliable enough to withstand constant use, while being very easy to test to ensure it is in optimum working order. All-in-all, it’s an elegant solution and very straightforward to install, which is important with so many to do.”

In each case, a small microphone will be installed next to the cash register’s display, with the feed to the CLD1-CT running down the inside of the display’s support column to the inside of the counter, where the loop amplifier is easily accessed through a door.

“It’s an ongoing programme of installation, but Posten Norge has said it is very satisfied. There have been no problems whatsoever with the equipment and the company has said it is very happy with the service and technical backup from both Ampetronic and Scandec,” concluded Riise.

Ampetronic’s Julian Pieters told IE: “Uptake for the CLD1 is growing rapidly across Europe as countries take their obligations and contracts more seriously and Posten Norge is an example of what’s happening generally. The CLD1 is an extremely cost-effective solution for a ‘fit-and-forget’ product. Sales have grown strongly and it is probably Ampetronic’s fastest growing product in terms of sales.”
