PPDS has supplied a fleet of 70 Philips MediaSuite TVs for installation across guest rooms at the five-star Bellevue Syrene hotel in Sorrento, southern Italy, working with local integration partner Meginet. The 4K UHD TVs, ranging from 43in to 65in, were installed throughout the hotel’s 51 guest rooms and suites, with additional units added for larger suites.
The hotel’s owners sought to replace an ageing television system with a connected, centrally managed hospitality display network, with key requirements including 4K UHD image quality and the ability to offer guests a personalised entertainment experience with access to their own streaming services and content.
The Philips MediaSuite TVs include a cast feature built directly into the display, first introduced on the range in 2019, allowing guests to wirelessly share content from personal devices to the TV. Guests connect their smartphone or tablet via a unique QR code and can cast content from streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The TVs also provide access to a range of apps and games.
The hotel’s AV and IT teams manage the display network using PPDS’ CMND platform, which is centrally managed and customisable to reflect the hotel’s brand identity, allowing software updates, security enhancements and new features to be scheduled and deployed remotely. Login information is automatically deleted from each TV upon checkout. Staff can also use the platform to create and display welcome messages, in-house information, checkout details and marketing content on guest room screens.
Claudio Napolitano, general manager at Hotel Bellevue Syrene, said: “When it comes to digital entertainment and information technology and communications services, we always choose partners capable of providing valuable, reliable and cutting edge technologies, enabling us to offer our guests a truly complete and memorable stay.”
Vittorio Acampora, CEO at Meginet, added: “Our partnership with PPDS for Philips Professional Displays is a key factor that enables us to invest in joint strategies, providing us with a solution that combines technological innovation with ease of use.”
