Outline powers Latin America’s largest rodeo festival

Full-scale solution, including GTO, GTO-DF, Superfly, Mantas 28 and DBS 18-2 loudspeakers, provided audio for 11-day Festa do Peão de Barretos, in state of São Paulo, Brazil

Outline audio equipment powered the recent 2025 Festa do Peão de Barretos, at the 80,000-capacity Barretos Arena, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Organisers said the 11-day event, which is the largest rodeo festival in Latin America, attracted around 1m visitors in August this year.

The São Paulo-based rental house Gabisom Audio Equipment deployed a full-scale Outline solution including GTO, GTO-DF, Superfly, Mantas 28 and DBS 18-2 loudspeakers, supported by Outline’s Newton FPGA-based processing platform and powered by GTA Series amplification.

With a fully integrated Outline signal chain from processing to amplification to loudspeakers, the system was designed to ensure high output, wide coverage, and consistent clarity.

The set-up was designed and optimised by Gabisom system engineer Targe Vicente, who aimed to deliver full-range coverage across the 140 x 140m site. Vicente said the Superfly modules were employed to maintain intelligibility and SPL consistency at long throw distances, while the Mantas 28 units provided front-fill coverage close to the stage.

Meanwhile, the GTO line, according to Vicente, was designed to offer a balance of fidelity, output and rigging flexibility for arena-scale productions. Sub-bass was delivered via DBS 18-2 units, with the system configured to provide significant headroom without requiring excessive gain.

Pedro Nery, front of house engineer, said: “The system’s sound pressure level and sound projection, even over huge distances, impressed me greatly. Especially the sub-bass section, which added depth to the sound in a stadium with less-than-ideal acoustics.”

He added: “The system was very well distributed, with the main track and outfills projecting strongly in terms of clarity and SPL. Delay [Superfly] modules were also employed, which contributed significantly to carrying the sound all the way to the end of the arena while maintaining consistency. What impressed me most was the performance of the sub-bass section – even at 70m from the stage, the low end had remarkable depth and control.”
