Renovia is a whole home audio system developed by NuVo Technologies, reports David Davies. The system is said to be easy to use and install, and employs the existing electrical wiring in a home as the infrastructure for delivering audio and metadata from multiple sources to multiple rooms.
Based on HomePlug power line carrier technology, Renovia is described as a “breakthrough” product because it allows custom installers to bring whole home audio to retrofit/existing home projects without the need to install Cat5 cabling.
The system – which is due to launch in Europe in the first quarter of 2010 – has already been acknowledged with a CEDIA Manufacturers’ Excellence Award for Best New Product. One of 10 bestowed in this category, the award was presented during CEDIA EXPO 2009.
