MultiTouch is demonstrating its 42in MultiTaction unit for the first time in the US, including both the MT42OW7, the industry’s first embedded Windows 7 multitouch display for its size, featuring the Intel Core i7 processor, and the companion MT420S, a stackable product that can be designed for large wall, table, or asymmetric display configurations.
The MT420 series products demonstrate the benefits of the MultiTaction architecture, which allows any size LCD display to offer full multitouch capabilities. The products offer MultiTouch’s full-hand tracking – rather than finger tracking – for enhanced touch response in multi-user applications. The MultiTouch booth also features: the MultiTouch Oblique Wall, the world’s first modular multi-touch LCD screen for large-scale displays; augmented reality applications on dual 55in MultiTaction tables, and a new massive interactive wall. MultiTaction’s key benefits are said to include: 200 frames per second touch tracking; Computer Vision Through Screen optical imaging-based touch technology designed for operation in wide range of environments and in changing light conditions; and interaction with real life objects through optical marker recognition.
