Slovenian company Infinitus used the opportunity presented by the ‘Hello Digital’ week in Birmingham, UK to launch its new outdoor public LCD display, where the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Len Gregory (pictured), took the opportunity to try out the interactive City Info Point application.
The imotion features double-sided 46in portrait screens from Samsung, and is specifically designed to be readable in sunlight. Supported by integrated speakers and capable of delivering HD content, the imotion can be optionally configured with a capacitive touch screen, IP camera, wi-fi hotspot and Bluetooth access. Anti grafitti protection is also possible.
The screens are hermetically sealed in an IP65/NEMA 4X enclosure, and are capable, says the company, of reliable, 24/7 operation. The imotion includes ControlMotion Basic maintenance software, a feature of which is the ability to send an email alert to warn of any system problems.
A 52in version of the imotion was announced at ISE 2010.
