Mood Media creates interactive concept store for Générale de Téléphone

The experience design company Mood Media has designed and installed an interactive audio and video space for a new concept store commissioned by French telecoms company Générale de Téléphone.

The store, simply called ‘Mood’, utilises the latest retail technology dedicated to smartphone accessories and connected products.

The ‘connected wall’ by Mood Media is an interactive display for connected products, presented on individual shelves easily accessible to customers. Another function, made possible by RFID technology, means that when a customer lifts one of the products from the shelf, a film about it plays on a 24in touchscreen.

An app installed on the smartphones of Mood retail staff connects to a 46in screen facing the entrance of the shop broadcasting product and promotional information. Also the #mood feed is broadcasted on a 46in screen inside the store and updated every two minutes. ‘Instappen’, was built and integrated in partnership with the Digital Campus of Bordeaux.

Mood Media’s sound designers have developed a bespoke playlist, to reflect the Mood brand with more than 800 songs played every month.

Following the successful launch of the first Mood boutique in Bordeaux last year, Mood Media was appointed by Générale de Téléphone to create additional Mood stores in Paris, Tours, La Rochelle and Dijon with a total of 14 new shops created before the end of the year.

Claude Nahon, President of Mood Media International commented: “This collaboration allowed Mood Media the opportunity to re-imagine how technology can be used to create a really interactive and engaging experience designed to truly connect with Génerale de Téléphone’s customers’. It is just the beginning of a beautiful and long partnership.”
