Monitor Audio expands SoundFrame speaker range

The company’s 3.5” deep ‘picture’ speakers combine high-quality audio delivery with a host of grille colours, patterns and images that answer the need for ‘room sensitive design and coordination’.

The company’s 3.5” deep ‘picture’ speakers combine high-quality audio delivery with a host of grille colours, patterns and images that answer the need for ‘room sensitive design and coordination’.

The choice of grille options includes four photo styles, four graphical designs and five uniform colours, while UK consumers may also select from seven iconic images licensed to Monitor Audio by celebrated rock music photographer Ross Halfin. Custom designs can also be requested.

The newly-expanded SoundFrame range offers on-wall and in-wall versions of two models (SF1 in portrait and SF2 in landscape). They incorporate Monitor Audio’s proprietary pivoting Inverted Dual-Concentric (IDC) mid/tweeter driver modules, developed for the company’s range-topping in-ceiling and in-wall speakers. With 18 degrees of play in all directions each module’s C-CAM mid driver and tweeter can be directed toward the listening position for detailed sound and accurate imaging. Monitor Audio says that ‘naturally punchy and rhythmic mid-bass frequencies’ are reproduced by a further single 165mm (6.5”) C-CAM/RST driver.

The new products – which are available from this month – continue the range’s tradition of easy installation. There are keyhole fixings for on-wall models and pre-fix corner brackets for in-wall versions, while the connecting cable runs in the wall cavity, enters from the back, and is connected at the front. Completing the installation, a gloss white, gloss black of paintable grille frame clips into place.
