Mitsubishi Electric technology providing HD display for iconic baseball stadium

The new scoreboard will consist of Diamond Vision AVL-ODQ8 8mm LED screen. More specifically, it will comprise 8,601,600 LEDs and produce 550sq m of HD display area, enabling the simultaneous display of up to four 1080 HD images. The display will be overseen by Mitsubishi Electric’s DSC2 digital display controller.

Russell Hartwell (pictured), European sales manager for the Diamond Vision screens, told II: “We are understandably delighted with the news that the Yankees’ 25-year relationship with Diamond Vision will be continuing in their new landmark stadium. Along with Times Square, the Yankees’ Stadium occupies a very special place in the hearts of New Yorkers and it is very gratifying for us that Diamond Vision will continue to figure prominently in both those iconic locations for years to come. Likewise, I’m sure Yankees’ fans will be delighted with dramatic leap in image quality that the latest High Definition Diamond Vision systems deliver. Just as it did 25 years ago, Diamond Vision continues to set the gold standard in stadium screen systems.”
