Matrix improves wine experience

Matrix Display Systems has supplied and installed eight Epson EB Series 3LCD projectors in the cinema at visitor attraction Denbies Vineyard.

Denbies Vineyard, the UK’s largest working winery, is a popular visitor destination set in the countryside of rural Surrey, England. The cinema room is a very popular part of the Denbies “Indoor Wine Experience” tour, attracting 25,000 visitors each year. Matrix Display Systems – a division of AVM – fitted this room with a 360º, panoramic cinema using eight Epson projectors.

Family groups and businesses visit the estate to learn about the process of wine making, and the history of the land, as well as to sample Denbies’ range of wines. The 360º cinema is an integral part of the experience, featuring films that capture and illuminate the mysteries of viticulture throughout the seasons and the fascinating heritage of the estate.

A decision was made to upgrade the cinema installation because the five year old projectors were being used for an average of six-and-a-half hours a day and were becoming increasingly worn out, unreliable and disrupted by malfunction.

Matrix recommended Epson’s EB series 3LCD projectors, and these are programmed to play the film five times a day and are automatically switched off at the end of the day to keep power consumption and lamp usage to a minimum.
