Residential CI audio outfit Marantz has unveiled three new additions to its home cinema line-up in the SR7008, SR6008 and SR5008 network AV receivers. The flagship SR7008, which is derived from Marantz's SR7007 reciever, extends the number of channels from seven to nine with 200W amplifiers used as power. The SR5008 and SR6008 models, meanwhile, incorporate seven channels each powered by185W amplification.
All three devices feature multi-room support to bring different audio and video signals in different zones as well as Marantz’s proprietary HDAM audio circuitry and current feedback topology.
Connectivity-wise the home cinema devices come with full state-of-the-art network facilities, enabling connections to sources such as Apple’s AirPlay technology, Internet Radio, Spotify and last.fm online music streaming (where available), and Windows 8/RT. Thanks to the DLNA standard, users can easily stream ymusic from network drives at home, including HD audio (WAV HD, FLAC HD, Apple lossless) and gapless support for uninterrupted live concert experiences.
In addition, the SR7008 offers zone output from digital sources (HDMI, optical, coaxial or network) and features Phono MM amplifier for vinyl fans is also on board, so is a 11.2ch pre-out for ultimate system expansion possibilities.
All three systems are supported by Audyssey DSX (upgraded to MultEQ XT32/LFC as well as Audyssey Pro) and DTS Neo:X 9.1 to enhance the home theatre surround sound experience thanks to additional front height or front wide channels.
Video signals are via advanced video processing, with 6+1 HDMI inputs, and 2+1 outputs (dual output for main zone and multi zone output), all of which support 3D 4k pass- through and 4k video processing. Lower resolution video can be up-scaled to Full-HD or even 4k. InstaPrevue technology makes it possible to conveniently preview all HDMI input sources on the screen via picture-in-picture. The front digital connectivity (HDMI & USB) makes the SR7008 particularly friendly for mobile, tablet, iPad/iPhone, camera & camcorder.
