LTP is one of four companies in the Llanelli-based PAI Group, the others being PAI, Link-AV and Vaughan Sound Installations (VSI).
Designed by the facility’s in-house architects, The Atrium is housed under an undulating glass roof comprising thousands of glass panels, suspended by tree-like support structures. LTP was brought into the project by electrical contractor T Clarke at the recommendation of architectural/entertainment lighting specialist Architainment, and provided design support for the required trusses, including the specification of their internal wiring outlets.
The trusses – each three metres in length and constructed from Litestructures’ A04 product – are 227mm square and were rigged in The Atrium roof using cherry pickers. Led by Jonathan Adkins, the LTP site team employed Reutlinger wire rope hangers to secure the trusses in place at the designated positions.
The lighting rig itself includes 300 Enlighten/ETC Source Four PARs and Profiles, and 100 circuits of architectural lights. Along with the hooks, clamps and fixings, they are coated in the same white RAL colour (9010), rendering them nearly invisible in the roof void.
