macom to open AV media technology lab

The macom LAB, which will officially open this autumn in Eislingen/Fils, Germany, will offer companies and architects the opportunity to design and test AV media technology and collaboration solutions for new building and integration projects.

“Modern media and communication technology provide incredible opportunities for new work environments and new distribution models. Collaboration, innovation, modularisation and standardisation are the major spheres of activity,” stated Oliver Mack, member of the management of macom.

“It is important to adapt the technology individually to the requirements of every project and the respective company-wide standards and strategies. The macom LAB addresses these important issues. At our macom LAB we can show and demonstrate which technologies or which hardware and software combinations are currently available on the market and how it is possible to systematically develop a high user experience via an intelligent combination of the most suitable technology and it’s professional integration,” explained Simon Badr, director of the macom LAB.

The macom LAB provides different areas for the simulation of flexibly adaptable working and meeting spaces as well as for more complex collaboration environments. Alongside a team of macom consulting and planning experts, companies or architects can plan the media technology requirements for upcoming building projects and existing integration projects. Hardware and software shootouts can also be arranged to find out the most suitable technical solutions for different project requirements.

Additionally, technical standards for future construction projects can be developed, and macom can certify hardware and software solutions for these standards.
