Kinoton introduces new digital signage player

The KDS Digital Signage Player is a budget-conscious, all-in-one-solution combining hardware and software.

The KDS Digital Signage Player is a budget-conscious, all-in-one-solution combining hardware and software. Facilitating the management and scheduled playback of electronic advertising content, the KDS Player is said to be suitable for a wide variety of applications, including those specified by small- and medium-sized companies.

Readied for operation by simple plug-and-play without the need for lengthy systems integration, the new launch features pre-installed software that enables flexibility in the design and animation of individual digital signage messages. In addition to the classic full-screen view, the screen can be divided into various segments displaying different content (eg. videos, commercials, TV broadcasts, news feeds and presentations) simultaneously. Variable layout templates help users with content creation, while presentation playlist cycles can be scheduled freely. Support for all common multimedia content is complemented by the ability to update individual content and playlists over the Internet/LAN.

Designed for stable 24/7 operation, the KDS Digital Signage Player is said to be equally suitable for standalone installation and implementation as part of a centrally-controlled digital signage network.

Harald Naether, vice president of sales for Kinoton-manufactured Litefast 360Ā° Displays, told IE: “The KDS Digital Signage Player is an all-in-one digital signage box combining a compact and very reliable player hardware and an easy-to-use digital signage software. It is a very cost-efficient and user-friendly plug-and-play solution, suitable for single-place screen advertising as well as for digital signage networks. Especially small or medium sized companies that don’t have IT staff or AV professionals at their disposal will find the KDS Player the perfect instrument to compile and play out their own digital signage messages.”

The new solution will be on display at InfoComm 2010, which takes place in Las Vegas this week.
