Equipment installed included a Christie CP2000S digital projector in the 500-seat ‘Premier’ screen, and Outline sound systems and Christie film projector in both the ‘Illusium’ and ‘Etro’ screens.
The refurbishment work – which extended over many months – also encompassed the surrounding bars, coffee-house, pizza restaurant and ‘fashion caf_’.
Films screened since the installation of the new equipment include Beowulf, the first film to be released in Russia in 3D format.
“Illusium is still one of the most stylish and high quality cinemas in Russia and CIS,” Kinoproekt’s Julia Demchenko told II. “Batyr Centre is unmatched by any other cinema in Moscow or St Petersburg. Guests can now not only enjoy the high quality image and sound, but also the posh interiors.”
