Meanwhile, KEF has been acknowledged as a CoolBrand for 2009/10, reports David Davies. Designed to complement flat panel TVs of 32in and larger, the new KEF KHT7005 Soundbar’s HTF7003 front speaker’s enclosure is said to complement the look of a flat screen.
Each of the three channels contains dual 50mm (2in) woofers and a 19mm (0.75in) HF driver. A wall-mount bracket and table stand are provided.
The Soundbar system – which is available now in a high gloss black finish – also includes two HTS7001 satellite speakers and the KUBE-1 subwoofer.
In other news, KEF has been honoured as CoolBrand for 2009/10 by the Superbrands organisation. The annual list reflects the opinions of an Expert Council and 2,458 members of the public, who selected KEF as one of this year’s CoolBrands from an initial list of thousands.
“KEF’s inclusion on the CoolBrands List 2009/10 shows that KEF is a leading figure in its sector,” said Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the CoolBrands council and chief executive of The Centre for Brand Analysis. “Competition to be seen as one of the coolest brands in the UK is as fierce as ever and clearly KEF is delivering in the eyes of experts and the public.”
Steve Halsall, assistant managing director of KEF, told IE Residential: “As this honour is voted for by a panel of experts and is based on what the general public think, it is particularly gratifying for a specialist audio brand like ours to be included. Featuring alongside brands like Virgin and Aston Martin is excellent news for KEF and due in no small measure to flagship, newsworthy loudspeakers such as Muon and Concept Blade.”
