KEF adds new speakers to Ci range

The company has announced the addition of two new ‘round’ in-wall/in-ceiling speakers to its line-up of Custom Installation (Ci) products.

The company has announced the addition of two new ‘round’ in-wall/in-ceiling speakers to its line-up of Custom Installation (Ci) products.

The new products are the Ci130QR (£170 each), featuring 130mm (5.25”) Uni-Q driver array, 19mm (0.75”) aluminium dome tweeter and ‘tangerine’ waveguide, and gold-plated spring-loaded binding posts; and the Ci130CR (pictured, £130 each), which offers an asymmetrical tweeter island for wide off-axis response, 19mm (0.75”) aluminium dome tweeter and ‘tangerine’ waveguide, and 130mm (5.25”) extended response bass driver).

Both products also feature Ultra Thin Bezel designs, which are said to enable ‘the slimmest possible visible rim around the speaker’.

Michael Johnson, KEF’s UK head of marketing, told IE Residential: “Building on the success of our existing models we’ve been set on further developing the versatility of our Ci speaker offering. The new Ci series sees big advancements in design and sound. Not only are they more robust, include thinner bezels and are quick and easy to install, but they also feature the latest KEF technology such as UNI-Q driver array and tangerine wave guide. This means the driver and tweeter act as a single, focused source of sound, providing exceptionally wide dispersion characteristics – allowing far more flexible placement because the driver technology removes the ‘sweet spot’ effect. With a dedicated single stereo model available too, our new Ci range has been quick to establish itself with our installers and strengthen the already well-regarded KEF Ci range.”
