JBL VerTec lends ‘natural dynamic sound’ to Iceland’s National Day

Power came from Crown I-Tech 8000 and 6000 amplifiers, with loudspeaker management from a dbx 4800 DriveRack. Remote control and monitoring of the system was achieved with Harman’s HiQnet System Architect software via a wireless laptop. Mixing consoles were Soundcraft.

Jon Skuggi, FOH engineer at the event, commented: “The JBL VerTec system seems to have endless horsepower with Crown I-Tech amplification. It has this natural dynamic sound character and the clarity on all frequencies is such that there is hardly any need for much system equalisation anymore. I was amazed by how even and punchy the sub bass was throughout the whole area.”

David Scheirman, vice-president, tour sound at JBL Professional, noted: “Hljodx’s use of JBL VerTec line arrays in Iceland speaks to the increasing number of regional rental sound firms around the globe that are relying on VerTec to service concerts, seasonal festivals and civic events. The power and reliability of VerTec is proving itself for any live sound application, indoors or outdoors.”
