ISE showcase for historic JVC product

The company is to exhibit the world’s first THX 3D certified home theatre projectors as well as the new version of the TV-TOOLS digital signage software.

In fact, JVC Professional will introduce no fewer than three new 3D-ready D-ILA projectors at ISE 2011 – the DLA-RS60, DLA-RS50 and DLA-RS40. The range flagship, the DLA-RS60, is built using hand-selected, hand-tested components and provides a 100,000:1 native contrast ratio. Along with the DLA-RS50, these are the world’s first projectors to gain THX 3D Display Certification – the result of an exacting process that involves more than 400 lab tests.

The JVC projectors feature simple, one-button solutions for optimised playback of 3D and 2D movies. THX Cinema Mode ensures that colour reproduction, luminance, blacks, gamma and video processing matches what the filmmaker intended, while THX 3D Cinema Mode extends this same level of accuracy to 3D broadcasts and Blu-ray Discs. The latter mode is also designed to deliver highly accurate colour in 3D, while minimising sources of cross-talk and flicker.

For 3D content, each projector includes two HDMI 1.4a ports and supports side-by-side (broadcast), frame packing (Blu-ray Disc), and above-below 3D transmissions. An external 3D Signal Emitter (PK-EM1) syncs the projected image with JVC’s Active Shutter 3D Glasses (PK-AG1).

The ISE stand will also play host to Version 9.0 of JVC’s digital signage platform, TV-TOOLS. Presented on JVC’s GM-F Series monitors, the system enables content to be displayed on screens built for 24/7 use.

JVC Professional’s UK & MEA general manager, John Kelly, told IE Residential: “The corporate market should significantly improve over the next year, so ISE is a great platform for us to reach our channel and key end users. We will be launching a range of 3D-capable projectors at the show, featuring ultra-high contrast ratios; these are aimed at the professional markets, including visualisation, medical and simulation.”
