Attended by 40,000 spectators, the ceremony – which incorporated an impressive fireworks display – was held in Tianhe Sports Centre, Guangzhou in southern China. The Sy80 was used in conjunction with an ESS line array system and Camco amplification.
“The Sy80 is a large console made for large events, and when you talk about large events in China you really do mean large,” said Pion. “We have also found that engineers in the country like the ease-of-use and the sound quality. A sound engineer who has never mixed on an Sy80 can feel comfortable with it after only a short introductory period.”
